After studying and working in the jewellery trade for a number of years, Jan Bekker started Sirkel Jewellery in 2006, inspired by the idea of making jewellery personal again. Every piece of jewellery from Sirkel is handmade; every corner and curve carefully considered. Most of the pieces are custom-designed with and especially for individual clients. Every piece is distinctive and carries the personal input of its wearer or the person giving it. All precious metals are used, including platinum, gold and silver, as well as wood and plastics. Age-old techniques are used: this is a conscious choice to avoid modern mass manufacturing methods. At Sirkel each piece of work is truly unique.
